New Microsoft Surface and DELL All in One Clients - what's new?

You can recognise the new devices by the new Windows background image - whenever you want to log on to such a PC, you should observe the following things.

Login Process:

The new devices are already connected to the M365 account of SIS. It is therefore necessary to use the SIS username or email address and the personal password when logging in. After logging in, the client connects to the online profile and sets up the personal OneDrive on the computer.

OneDrive and personal "digital" folders:

In the past, all personal files were stored on the U: - this is now changing.

After logging in, you are connected to OneDrive and your desktop, documents and pictures are always synchronised with the cloud storage. Old files from your U drive should be uploaded to your OneDrive folder now at the latest, colleagues or your IT support will be happy to help you with this. No data will be deleted - don't worry 😉.

Print:

The new printer service is called "Printix" and automatically connects all printers in the school that are assigned to your user. So, everything remains the same.

Printing in the school building is only allowed for teachers and staff. Pupils should send their print jobs to the relevant teacher as usual.

Apps @ SIS:

In the future, we will offer the software, which is not automatically installed and is classified as compulsory for every teacher and pupil, via our "Company Portal". Like an app store, you will be offered all programmes and can install them independently on the client.

W-Lan:

All new devices will automatically connect to the new wifi "SIS-DEVICES", you do not need a password because the connection has already been installed on your device. For all private BYOD devices, the PUBLIC-SIS wifi will be offered in the future.

Have fun with your new equipment!
